The Guide to Self Watering Globes

The Guide to Self Watering Globes

We've heard you loud and clear — you love the self-watering globes. They're easy to use, take the guesswork out of watering your plants, and they add an aesthetic touch to the plants themselves.

So how do you use them? We wanted to write this quick guide so you can get the most out of your self-watering globe.

What Are They?

They're hand-blown glass globes that take the effort out of watering. Each globe gradually releases moisture over a period of up to two weeks, ensuring plants stay happy and hydrated with minimal effort. The extra-long, strengthened stem is great for targeting the root zone of your plants, while the tapered tip better regulates the flow of moisture.

How Do You Use Them?

  1. Fill the globe — Pour clean water into the glass globe until full. We recommend using a very minimal flow of water, as it'll be an easier pour. This can take a little bit of time, but it is worth it.
  2. Prepare the soil — Make a small hole in the soil with your finger or a stick to prevent overflow. Don't press super hard, just gently create the space.
  3. Insert the globe — Gently place the narrow stem into the hole so it sits securely in the soil. Put it on an angle, not directly vertical.
  4. Let it do the work — The globe will slowly release water over a period of up to two weeks, keeping your plant hydrated.
  5. Refill as needed — Once empty, simply remove, refill, and reinsert for continuous use.

What's the Point?

A lot of plants function differently and will need water at different times. The self-watering globe will gradually release water without overflowing them or drenching their roots with what they do not need. Monsteras to peace lilies — it is made with all plants considered.
