Shade Loving Plants for your dark corners

Shade Loving Plants for your dark corners

Our houseplants can be the biggest game-changers of our living spaces, whether it is mentally or aesthetically, nature holds a strong place in all our hearts. Sometimes it’s tricky to find the right plant for the right space; it can be especially difficult when we have a shady area, and plants need sunlight. What do we put there? Here’s our list of shade-loving plants for that specific corner of your home.

ZZ Plant,
They are incredibly beautiful and bring a modern feel to your home. They’re also very resilient and can survive in many different lighting conditions. It is also drought-tolerant, which makes it a perfect beginner plant as well, seriously, a plant that can survive low light and neglect? Gold star for the ZZ plant.

Snake Plant,
We personally love to call them Mother-In-Law’s Tongue as it sounds fantasy-like, they are honestly near immortal, okay, not immortal but very close to it. This plant can handle low light, a dash of neglect, and infrequent watering. They give a very boho, desert vibe and would go well in any shady little corner.

Pothos,
Hardy, quick to grow, vines with gorgeous leaves, and different variations. This is the plant that everyone should have in their home, and guess what? They can thrive in low light, if you’re after a trailing look, and you have a shelf that is somewhat shrouded? Pop a pothos right there, and they will give you what you’re looking for. Guess what? They also help purify the air.

Peace Lily,
If you know… You know we were NOT making this list without including the shadiest plant ever, she’s dramatic, she loves the low light, and has that air purifying quality. Peace lilies love a shady spot. They’re super expressive when you forget to water them, which makes it easier to stay on schedule, and they’re absolutely gorgeous. Our personal favourite is a blue moon peace lily.
