How To Make Your Home Feel More Alive

How To Make Your Home Feel More Alive

We’re staying home a bit more lately, and our home should be our sanctuary. Sometimes, adding a nice photo on the wall or changing up the couch cushion can be that small change we need to provide that homey feeling.

We know the feeling, and we wanted to provide you with ways to make your home feel more alive with plants. They are known to boost mental health and provide comfort.

Why do plants make such a difference?
They are beautiful, there is no denying that, but they change the feeling of a space. They soften it, they make it feel more alive, and they add a personality that only you have. They are unique to you.

Even something as simple as a pothos that trails down a shelf or a snake plant tucked into a corner can change the energy of a room.

Compared to most upgrades in homes, they’re low-cost, long-lasting, and only grow better with time.

You don’t need more plants; you need better care.
We’re not saying don’t get more plants, but often times we find that less is more, those select plants you have picked out because you love them can become ever bigger and better with the right care.

The real shift happens when you take care of what you already love, feeding your houseplants just as you would yourself. Giving them a clean every now and then can really give you a break in your routine. These little rituals can change how we feel.

What plants should I pick?
This can be a tricky question for us all. There are so many plants out there and so many to choose from, so how do we choose which is best for us? Our best tip is to take some time and decide what style you’re going for. Are you after a boho look? Snake plants and succulents will bring that to life.

Check the lighting; some plants have different requirements for them to thrive. Some prefer less light, some prefer more. Pothos can thrive in low to medium light, whereas Monstera prefers bright indirect light; they are all unique.

Does it feel too complicated?
It can be a lot to learn at first, but it gets easier with time. Start small, work your way up, pothos are the best starting plant as they are very, very low maintenance, then work your way up to a Philodendron Emerald, and so on. Plants are available and accessible to everyone, whether you’re in an apartment or a house; they can make it work.

With plant care, they don’t need a science project going on in their pot; they need the basic essentials that they would normally get out in the wild. Grow Concentrate is an amazing starting point; you can’t overdose your plant on it, it’s entirely organic, and it’s pet-safe. Simply add a few drops to your watering vessel and give that a go, as you build up that pattern, so will your plants.

Small changes make the biggest difference.
Right now, a lot of people are rethinking how they spend. The best upgrades are not always the most obvious; sometimes, it’s just as simple as creating the space that feels good to be in without constantly spending more to get there. Plants will provide that, quietly, in a way that lasts.

Ready to start?
If you’ve already got plants at home, you’re already halfway there. A few changes to how you care for them can completely transform how your space looks and feels.
