How to Keep Indoor Plants Healthy Through Winter and Ready for Spring: 4 Easy Care Tips

We're starting to think ahead to spring but our indoor plants are still feeling the impact of winter. Less sunlight, drier air, and cooler temps can slow growth and leave your indoor plants looking a little lacklustre.

Here are a 4 tips to help keep your indoor plants thriving in winter and help those plants get ready for spring!

#1 Make the most of a sunny day:

There's naturally less sunlight in winter, so make the most of what you've got. Move light-loving plants closer to windows and consider a grow light to supplement their natural light intake.

#2 Hydration station:

Winter air can zap the moisture from your plants. Adjust your watering accordingly. Check the soil regularly –– sticking your finger in to gauge moisture levels. If the top inch of soil is dry, it's time to water. It's important to avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot, especially when the soil stays cooler for longer.

#3 Give plants a nutrient boost:

Winter can be a tough time for plants to get the nutrients they need. While you should avoid chemical fertilisers in winter a natural, organic plant food like our Grow Concentrate is a game-changer! Packed with beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and essential nutrients, Grow Concentrate helps plants stay strong and resilient, even in lower light, cooler, conditions. For an extra boost sprinkle some Support Pellets in your soil to develop a healthy root system, setting plants up for banger spring growth and blooms.

#4 Keep leaves clean:

Many plants may slow down their growth in winter, so they need a little extra TLC. Regularly clean their leaves to remove dust and improve light absorption, use our Protect Spray with Neem and Leaf Gloves to help clean leaves.

By following these simple tips and giving your plants a little extra love, you can ensure you won't loose any indoor plants this winter and head into spring with your green oasis intact!
