How to grow herbs indoors

Herbs and edible plants are a win-win here at We the Wild HQ. Not only will they boost any recipe, but they look and smell gorgeous! Here are some tips to keep in mind if you want to grow at home.

CHOOSE THE BEST HERBS FOR INDOORS

It's best to start off with some of your classic herbs. Mint is a good starting point because it's hardy, safe for pets, AND who doesn't love a good Mojito? You can also give Chives, Parsley, and Coriander a go.

AVOID SUPERMARKET PLANTS

They may look great on the shelf, but they are destined to fail! Supermarket herbs are grown to be consumed and thrown. Most often, no amount of rescuing can't bring those babies back from the brink. We recommend buying your seeds, or seedlings, from a reputable garden centre.

FIND THE RIGHT SPOT FOR YOUR INDOOR HERBS

Your sunniest, brightest windowsill in the house will be your herb's favourite home. Make sure they're getting about 8 hours of direct or indirect sunlight a day.

CUT YOUR INDOOR HERBS WITH CAUTION!

Cutting too many leaves from your indoor herbs is a bit of a no-no. Try to only ever take a maximum of 1/3 of the available foliage, so that your green babe isn't stressed, and can keep pushing out new leaves.

FEED THEM WITH GROW AND SUPPORT.

Did you know that Grow Concentrate and Support Pellets are awesome for your herbs? Just use them as directed, and you will notice healthier plants and more flavoursome foliage!
